Clash (plural: Clashes) military: fight /disagreement
"BBCNews use the Israeli-approved word "clashes" in headlines to describe "mass killing" of Palestinians. A conscious effort to obscure who is killing and who is being killed." - Amnesty International.
Just an example of a misuse of language in news and corporate media.
Another Word of the Day:
Outrageous. Act, speech: shocking, offensive / very wrong.
"Updated number from the Palestinian Ministry of Health show 52 people (innocent civilians) have been killed today in Gaza, including 5 children under 18 and almost 2000 injured. A shameless violation of international law, in some instances constituting war crimes. The Israeli authorities show no signs they intend to rein in excessive force" - Amnesty International
